I am a huge film fan, typically watching a film every day. Since January 1st 2010, I have been keeping track of the films I have watched (my current total is 173 this year). In the blog’s sidebar you can see the number of films I have watched from the IMDb Top 250, and you can view my updated list at Track the IMDb 250.
One of the items on my Bucket List is to watch the entire 250 films listed as being the best by the users of IMDb. I am aware that this task will be difficult, the list is ever-evolving and some of the films may be harder to find. I would consider this goal to be achieved if at some point in the future I have all 250 crossed off the list at one point.
Track the IMDb 250 offers suggestions for films you may like, that you haven’t yet watched from the Top 250, but other people with similar film tastes have marked off their lists. The next five films that I am going to watch have been recommended by this website and are as follows:
- The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King (2003)
- Gladiator (2000)
- Terminator (1984)
- Terminator 2: Judgement Day (1991)
- The Godfather (1972)
Do you enjoy watching films? What is your favourite? My favourite film used to be The Matrix (1999). However, since undertaking this bucket list item, it has opened my eyes to many great films that I wouldn’t have otherwise watched. Two of my favourites are now The Departed (2006) and The Prestige (2006).
I will be posting updates to how I am progressing with this item to Twitter, so if you aren’t following me – be sure to do so.

I use the same website to track which movies I’ve seen. I’m at 20%. One of the goals on my Bucket List is to watch all of the Best Picture Oscar winners. I’ve seen 21 of them so far (out of 82). I’m watching movies that I would have never given the time of day to before and actually enjoying some of them.
My fav movie of all time is “Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory” followed closely by “The Sound of Music” and “Stepbrothers”.
I wasn’t a massive fan of ‘Step Brothers’ myself, however ‘Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory’ is a great, classic film that I’ve enjoyed watching many times (not yet this year though).
Thanks for your comment Elle, keep me updated on your Oscar Winners progress.
After a day at the office I enjoy watching a good movie. Too bad that lately I don’t have the time to go to the cinema, some movies are meant to be seen on a big screen. Now I’m watching old movies from the ’70, ’80. My latest is “A room with a view”.
I absolutely love going to the cinema (except when some idiots end up sitting behind you!).
I’ve not watched ‘A Room with a View’, I’ll add it to my ‘to watch’ list.
I typically watch newer films, but by watching through the IMDb Top 250, I’m slowly building up my ‘watched’ list with many older films that I would have otherwise missed out on.
Thanks for your comment.
