Google’s Blog Search does, however, look cleaner and more easily accessible than BuzzTracker or Techmeme or any of the other versions of this that are out there.

Thanks for the comment Suzanne. I didn’t sign up for the alerts myself, I just subscribed to the RSS feed (the link is below the alerts button on the blog search page). I suppose you could just sign up to the blog alerts – though by using comprehensive you will potentially find out more about what is being said on other websites or discussion forums.

Hmm, This is a good idea. I recently have started a blog and it should be receiving some hype. I ping every post even though i know wordpress pings it for me anyway. Thanks for the ideas. Keep up the good work.

If you set up Google alerts to find out if anyone mentions the name of your site, do you set Google alerts to Blog or Comprehensive or do you need to setup an alert for both.

Great points here. I actually have several alerts set up for google. It is a great way to not only track your name but to also track your competitors (and how active they are) as well as keywords.

I use Google alerts for my keywords so everytime my blog appears in the blog search I am emailed about it.
