Alexa Ranking Decreasing
Following my previous post regarding my Alexa rank, I thought I would write a quick follow-up just to keep you all informed on how things are panning out.
At the time of my previous post, my rank stood at 6,939,528. At the time, I thought this was really bad, but now it is looking at 8,755,182. I have fallen 2 million places in the rankings! This really isn’t good and I hope that it isn’t a reflection upon myself. Looking at my Google Analytics statistics, I recieved 156 unique visitors yesterday which I am very happy about.
Just to clarify, I am aware that Alexa ranking is not a true representation of how popular a website is, it is more of a guideline. The Alexa system requires users to have the Alexa Toolbar (or similar alternative) installed within their chosen web browser for it to record visitors. There is a strong trend towards webmaster-related websites displaying quite highly in the rankings as it is thought a majority of website owners will have the toolbar installed as a way to increase their own rankings as they visit their own websites.
I will go into further detail on how to increase your Alexa rank as I put some of them into action here. In the meantime please check out my contest post and let me know yur experiences with Alexa on your own blog or website.
Alexa Ranking
On the first day of the blog re-development I am looking at the Alexa Rank widget on the sidebar which is displaying a value of 6,939,528. All I can say is, ouch! I’m going to work hard at increasing this ranking and developing a well-produced blog that people WANT to visit time and time again.
There are several methods that I know of that will bring traffic to this blog and the next few posts will discuss the methods I have used and how effective they have been.
