For me, I’ve always gained the best motivation by realizing….if I don’t do it, nobody ELSE will do it for me.
Just freakin’ DO it, lately….has been my motto.
Best wishes for your future success!
As can be seen from the lack of posts to this blog, my motivation has once again dropped off the face of the planet. All of my websites/blogs have ground to a stand-still over the last month whilst I have done absolutely nothing online!
I have no real explanation for this. There are several things happening in my life at the moment that are being dealt with, one of which is that I am no longer moving out.
Earning money online is something that I have wanted to achieve for a long time and (although I mknew this at the start) I am beginning to realise more and more, that without a lot of hard work and attention being invested into each and every one of them – this is never going to happen.
The first step for me is deciding which projects to invest my time into. Looking at my GoDaddy account, I currently own 59 domain names and I have a further 3 being held at Moniker. I will be making a follow-up post discussing my decision with these projects but I know for a fact that both this blog and Gifts4Men will be my main focus for the next few weeks/months.
Offline, I have begun to attend the gym regularly as well as playing squash and football with my friends. In the last three weeks I have managed to lose 10lbs by performing this regular exercise and eating a little more healthier. Seeing improvements in my body, no matter how small, has motivated me to attend the gym more and makes me feel better about myself. I am hoping that I can push this motivation across to my online ventures by making small, steady improvements that will allow me to see results and improve upon them over time.
Have you ever suffered from lack of motivation? How did you solve it? Let me know in the comments.

Lack of motivation is a serious problem for some – as a result of that they get left behind and can’t perform well (I had to realize this personally). A good culture will try to deal with this problem in order to ensure productivity and well-being of those who lack motivation.

Maybe you lack inspiration and not motivation. Writing is not an easy thing to do, but I am sure that once you sit in front of the PC the words will start flowing.

It is very hard sometimes to find motivation. I find if im doing something I find interesting and enjoy I don’t lack motivation. However, if I know I need to do something which bores me I try and reward myself when the task is complete.

Lack of motivation is hard. Working from home doesn’t help because I figure you just don’t get out enough to get stimulation. I found that if you draw a line between work and play and make sure you ‘mingle” then becoming motivated when you get back to yuor computer seems to be a lot easier. Good luck!

Darren, I’m completely with you. I’ve got loads of sites which I’ve devoted time and energy into and it’s only now that I’m expecting return on them do I finally realise that you need to keep putting the time and effort into them. So I’ve made a conscious decision to get rid of the weaker stuff (well, just not do anything more to them) and concentrate on 1 or two projects. I can’t feasibly take on any more than that.
I was all guns a blazing when I started, making a site every couple of days – they’re all useless now and the ones that I’ve put care into aren’t doing well because I don’t market them and promote them enough. That’s because I’ve gone onto the next ‘brilliant’ idea…. And so the cycle repeats!!!

Working from home definitely needs motivation and discipline. First thing is to have discipline with regards to work start time, play time and end time. And the second thing is being motivated, and that is not an easy thing to achieve. You need to realize if you don’t thrive now then you wont get the fruit later. So say that your self struggling hard today will fetch you a vacation tomorrow. That how i get motivated
. Nice reading your post Darren.
